CHOCOLATE CAKE

Here is a recipe for a delicious 1-pound chocolate cake:

Ingredients:

- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar

- 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1 cup whole milk, at room temperature

- 2 large eggs, at room temperature

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

3. In a large mixing bowl, combine cocoa powder and milk. Stir until smooth.

4. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Whisk in vanilla extract.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture, whisking until just combined.

6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

7. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

8. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Enjoy your delicious 1-pound chocolate cake!

Note: You can also make this recipe in two 9-inch round cake pans. Just adjust the baking time to 35-40 minutes

As a general rule, cake pans should be filled 2/3rds of the way full for cake baking, unless otherwise specified in the recipe.

It’s always a good idea to check for doneness by inserting a toothpick or cake tester into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean or with just a few crumbs attached, the cake is likely done. You can also gently press the center of the cake with your finger – if it springs back, it is probably ready to be removed from the oven.

Keep in mind that these are just general guidelines and the actual baking time may vary depending on factors such as your oven’s temperature accuracy, the type of pan you are using, and the altitude at which you are baking. It’s always a good idea to keep an eye on your cake as it bakes and to make any necessary adjustments to the baking time as needed.
